A 25-year-old former school employee in Falun was sentenced today by Falu District Court to ten years in prison for five counts of child rape and one count of gross sexual abuse against a child.
The verdict was delivered on Thursday. The man, who had worked in Falu Municipality's school operations, was found guilty of crimes committed against a related girl between 2023 and 2026.
The prosecutor had demanded ten years in prison as well as damages. The court also ordered him to pay over 1.2 million kronor in compensation to the victim.
The man has denied the charges. His lawyer Michael Jacobs announced that the verdict will be appealed.
– We think that some parts are missing, says Jacobs. When the municipality learned of the detention, the man was suspended from his work.
