The Argentine driver finished 15th in the Hungarian Grand Prix and criticized his Alpine's lack of pace. He voiced frustration over the radio during the race and now heads into the mid-season break.
Franco Colapinto finished 15th in the Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring. The Argentine said after the race: “Faltó ritmo, muy raro. No sé si algo se rompió, pero iba muy despacio”. He also reported a good start but getting stuck behind Pierre Gasly and radioed his team on lap 16 with “¿Esto es en serio?” during his first pit stop.
Alpine failed to reach the points zone amid high temperatures. Colapinto managed the car for much of the race without finding the expected pace.
This race marked the end of the first half of the 2026 Formula 1 season. Colapinto welcomed the break, saying: “Ahora voy a descansar un poco, viene bien resetear”. The next event is the Dutch Grand Prix on August 23 at Zandvoort.
