On Saturday, November 15, 2025, North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution launched participants of the ninth Green International Xtreme Adventure (GIXA) North Sumatra at the back lawn of the Governor's Office in Medan. His presence reaffirms the provincial government's support for automotive events, adventure tourism, and off-road community bonding in Indonesia.

Beyond the launch, Bobby personally drove an off-road vehicle to open the journey. The extreme route spans eight days, from November 15 to 22, 2025, finishing at the Siosar area in Karo Regency. The event features various extreme vehicles like Jeep Cherokee, Suzuki Escudo, Nissan Terrano, Land Rover, and modified Jimny for rugged terrain. It is also joined by motor trail communities.

GIXA 9 Committee Chairman Gimbal Harahap said this year includes 46 4x4 vehicles, two 6x6 vehicles, and 14 motorcycles, totaling around 250 riders. Participants hail from North Sumatra, West Java, Kalimantan, Jakarta, and Riau. “Alhamdulillah, we can hold this year's GIXA event again. Starting from Medan, passing through Deliserdang, and finishing in Siosar on November 22. Besides off-road activities, we are also conducting social services in Tanjung Beringin Village and the Siosar relocation area,” he stated.

GIXA was first held in 2014 and has become a routine event of the Indonesia Off-road Federation (IOF), serving as a platform for camaraderie among off-road communities from various regions and abroad. The launch was attended by XTrim Indonesia Chairman Musa Idishah, IOF Founder Wijaya Kusuma, IMI North Sumatra Chairman Harun Mustafa Nasution, IOF North Sumatra Chairman Riza Bastaman Matondang, local officials, and provincial agency heads.
