Île-de-France Mobilités announces rail traffic adaptations from Monday 22 June due to extreme heat. The RER B will be particularly affected.
Île-de-France rail services will be heavily disrupted on Monday 22 June because of the heatwave. On its website and social media, Île-de-France Mobilités announces an adaptation of the transport plan across much of the regional rail network.
“Due to the exceptional, even historic, heat announced in Île-de-France next week, the rail network will be particularly impacted,” the transport authority states. Train cancellations are notably planned on the RER B, as well as on RER lines C, D and E and Transilien lines H, J, K, L, N, P, R, U and V.
Only the RER A is expected to run normally. The public body urges travellers to check traffic status before departure and advises, especially vulnerable people, to postpone their journeys.
In a statement sent to AFP, SNCF Voyageurs notes that the transport plan is being adapted and will be communicated once finalised to best preserve rail installations, rolling stock and service continuity.
