Horizon Line and March On partner on eight-film slate through 2026

U.S. production companies Horizon Line Entertainment and March On Productions have teamed up to finance and produce eight feature films by the end of 2026. The slate emphasizes thrillers, women-in-peril stories, and event-driven narratives, prioritizing female directors, writers, and stars. Production begins this month in Hamilton, Ontario.

The partnership between Horizon Line Entertainment and March On Productions marks a significant push into genre filmmaking with a focus on empowering women behind and in front of the camera. The eight-film slate includes a mix of completed and upcoming projects, all centered on tense, character-driven tales.

One film already wrapped is Greatest Actress in the World, directed by Lara Daans and starring Mena Suvari alongside C. Thomas Howell. Shooting starts this month on Silent Night Fall, featuring Stana Katic, Elisha Cuthbert, and Talia Asseraf, under the direction of Danny Friedman. In February, cameras will roll on Key to Freedom, written and directed by Damian Lee, with a cast that includes Denise Richards, C. Thomas Howell, Kim Coates, and Patrick Muldoon.

The remaining titles in development are No Free Lunch, penned by Jacques Frederick and Jeff Kazanian; Satisfaction, by Dana Fradkin and Kate Cassidy; The Trout Fisher, written by Jay Brock; Black Friday, from B. Harrison Smith; and an adaptation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Lara Laskin.

Damian Lee and Bennet De Brabandere will produce the films, with Rich Salvatore serving as executive producer. Quiver Distribution handles domestic sales, while Red Sea Media manages international rights. March On Productions, led by Salvatore—a producer with over 80 credits including The Comeback Trail and The Big Wedding—joins forces with Horizon Line's Lee and De Brabandere, known for works like Ski School and A Dark Truth.

Filming will occur in Hamilton, Ontario, in collaboration with local partner North Film Company, led by Russ De Jong. Post-production, overseen by Darren Bell, takes place at Toronto's Rolling Pictures Company, headed by George Levai and Michael Forsey. This initiative highlights growing independent production activity in Canada, blending suspenseful storytelling with diverse creative voices.
