Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Sherif El-Sherbiny, met with a delegation from the French construction materials group Saint-Gobain to discuss potential cooperation in advanced building materials, energy efficiency solutions, and green construction. The meeting aligns with the ministry’s ongoing efforts to coordinate with international companies and bolster ties in construction and sustainable development sectors.
Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized that the meeting fits into the ministry's continuous coordination with international firms to strengthen partnerships, particularly in construction and sustainable development. He outlined the ministry's core principles for global engagements, which include cutting costs through modern construction technologies, sticking to tight project schedules, and upholding high quality standards. The ministry intends to execute its development plans in record times without sacrificing efficiency or quality.
El-Sherbiny also underscored Egypt's national commitment to sustainable development and green urbanization. He stressed that future collaborations must integrate innovative, eco-friendly building solutions across all housing categories overseen by the ministry, from social and middle-income units to luxury residences and high-rise towers.
Saint-Gobain representatives stated that the company provides technologies and products that lower energy use and emissions while promoting sustainable construction and green building practices. The delegation commended Egypt's New Administrative Capital as a pioneering regional example of scientific urban planning.
