Hundreds gathered Sunday in Pamplona’s Plaza del Castillo to condemn the rape of a woman in the early hours of July 11 during the San Fermín festival.
The assault took place around 4:45 a.m. in the Vuelta del Castillo. The suspect was detained, and the duty judge ordered provisional prison without bail.
Representatives of the feminist movement, the Government of Navarra and Pamplona City Council joined the protest. Kenia Cordero said: “We are tired of saying we do not want assaults, but sadly they happen”.
The judge will step aside, and the case will move to the Violence Against Women section. The gathering occurred at 9 p.m. on Sunday.
