NFL insider Adam Caplan said the Pittsburgh Steelers grew frustrated with rookie receiver Roman Wilson after an injury limited his 2024 playing time. Caplan spoke on the Inside the Birds podcast Tuesday.
Caplan noted that the team held high expectations for Wilson after selecting him in the third round of the 2024 draft. An early injury caused the former staff to reduce his opportunities, following a pattern Caplan described as out of sight, out of mind under Mike Tomlin. Wilson finished the 2025 season with 12 catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns before being benched late in the year.
