Internacional de Bogotá presented with city brand on jersey

Turismo Bogotá, along with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and Invest in Bogotá, officially presented Internacional de Bogotá, the new project transforming the La Equidad club and incorporating the Bogotá Brand on a professional team's jersey for the first time. The club was acquired in January 2025 by an international consortium for around US$20 million, involving figures like Ryan Reynolds and Eva Longoria. The initiative aims to strengthen the capital's identity and international projection.

On December 13, 2025, the official presentation of Internacional de Bogotá took place at an event backed by the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the District Institute of Recreation and Sport (IDRD), the District Institute of Tourism (IDT), the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, and Invest in Bogotá. This project transforms the former La Equidad club, acquired in January 2025 by an international consortium led by the Tylis-Porter Group, with an investment of approximately US$20 million. Behind the initiative are entertainment and sports figures like Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, Eva Longoria, Kate Upton, Justin Verlander, and Scott Galloway.

The official jersey incorporates elements of Bogotá's identity, such as the Eastern Hills, the Andean condor symbolizing resilience, and the white, black, and gold color palette, inspired by the El Dorado legend, representing unity, strength, and greatness. Ángela Garzón, director of Bogotá Tourism, highlighted that “this milestone strengthens the construction of identity, competitiveness, and international projection of the capital, consolidating Bogotá as a city that drives talent, innovation, and sport”.

Nicolás Maya, the club's president, emphasized the honor of having the support of Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán and local entities: “We share a common vision: to project a positive, diverse, and contemporary Bogotá to the country and the world”. Ovidio Claros, executive president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, added that “sport is an engine of development, competitiveness, and quality of life”, mentioning the Sports Cluster Initiative since 2024.

The District Administration extended an invitation to other professional teams in the city to integrate the Bogotá Brand into their emblems. Operationally, the club has grown from 40 to 60 employees, with operational income above 5%, and plans new signings like Larry Vázquez and Fabricio Sanguinetti. There is also interest in further foreign investment and partnerships with brands like Umbro for merchandise.
