Jelly Roll visited San Quentin Rehabilitation Center to shoot his latest music video, "Hands Up." The trip follows a long tradition of artists performing for inmates there.
The country singer, who has spoken publicly about his own past incarceration, described the experience as one of the most meaningful of his career. "These are not actors. This is not a movie set," he said.
Jelly Roll also shared a personal reflection on social media. "The moment my life truly changed is when I threw my hands up," he wrote, adding that the opportunity to film with the inmates was "beyond words."
He thanked the facility, its staff, and the video crew. The release came hours after news broke that Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO had finalized their divorce.
Artists including Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, and Metallica have previously brought performances to the northern California site.
