Joel Svensson returns motivated from Blackhawks camp

Joel Svensson attended the Chicago Blackhawks development camp this summer after being drafted by the team in 2024. The IKO forward described the experience as valuable both on and off the ice. He returned home with renewed motivation for the upcoming season in Oskarshamn.

Svensson said the camp provided useful insights into NHL routines and organizational resources.

"It was good and fun. You take away a lot of valuable things, both what to think about on the ice and seeing how they work, how life is there and what is required," he told Barometern-OT.

Chicago still holds his rights for two more years. Svensson spoke with his agent recently but reported no stress about a contract.

Instead he is focused on training hard ahead of the season with IKO after posting 20 points last year. A few days of recovery are planned before preseason begins.
