Juan Martín Caicedo, executive president of the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure (CCI), announced his resignation from the role this Wednesday after over two decades leading the guild. He will officially hand over the presidency in February 2026 during the Statutory Assembly in Bogotá. Caicedo has been the sole executive president since the entity's founding in 2003.
Juan Martín Caicedo announced his resignation from the executive presidency of the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure (CCI) this Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after 20 years in the position. Through a letter formalized during the National Board of the guild, Caicedo explained his decision, though he will not hand over the role immediately.
The official transition will take place in February 2026, once the Statutory Assembly of the construction guild concludes, to be held in Bogotá. The guild stated that Caicedo will discuss the matter during the CCI Congress.
The CCI was officially established in October 2003, though at that time only the board of directors was formed. It was not until the following year, in 2004, that Caicedo was appointed as the first and so far only executive president. Thus, his departure ends an era that spans the entire history of the entity.
Prior to joining the CCI, Caicedo held prominent positions such as Mayor of Bogotá, senator, president of Fenalco, and director of the Cali Chamber of Commerce. His leadership has been essential in the development of Colombia's infrastructure sector over more than two decades.
