Businessman Julio Martínez Martínez has appointed María Dolores Márquez de Prado as his new lawyer in the Plus Ultra investigation.
Previous counsel Bernardo del Rosal filed his resignation on May 28, 2026, before Judge José Luis Calama citing irreconcilable differences over defense strategy.
Márquez de Prado, a former Audiencia Nacional prosecutor and lawyer for Rosalía Iglesias, wife of Luis Bárcenas, will now represent Martínez, who is charged in the case also involving former prime minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
Zapatero is scheduled to testify on June 17 and 18 at the Audiencia Nacional. The case file links Martínez to an alleged influence-peddling structure through the firm Análisis Relevante.
