Junts spokesperson Míriam Nogueras called on Friday for Pedro Sánchez to call general elections immediately due to corruption cases affecting the PSOE, while rejecting support for a censure motion.
Nogueras stated that her party expects nothing but the dissolution of parliament and a call for elections, aligning with the PNV position. She recalled that Junts had already warned a month ago it would not support new legislative measures.
The independence leader rejected a censure motion with the PP and Vox, saying Junts is not there to install or remove Spanish governments. She criticized that Spanish history consists of corrupt governments succeeding one another.
Nogueras noted the government lacks a majority and recalled that Sánchez appeared on July 9 last year promising anti-corruption measures that have not been implemented. The PSOE faces investigations affecting its last organization secretaries and former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
