Following its record-breaking 2025 success as Netflix's most-watched film, KPop Demon Hunters is eyeing a sequel. In a Bloomberg interview, co-director Maggie Kang addressed speculation: "I can't really say that officially, but I would say…in a world that loves sequels, I don't think it's a surprise that something else could be coming. It's going to be a long wait for anything because, unfortunately, animation just takes a long time." She noted enthusiasm amid the film's ongoing awards run.
The soundtrack remains a powerhouse into 2026, with HUNTR/X's 'Golden' topping Billboard's Top Movie Songs chart for January, followed by 'Soda Pop' at No. 2. The track earned a Grammy for best song for visual media—the first for a K-pop song—and the film secured two Academy Award nominations. Voices like Audrey Nuna (Mira) called it "healing," highlighting Korean cultural representation, while Ejae (Rumi) celebrated global sing-alongs.
