Police in Takamatsu have arrested a 52-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of sending threatening messages to a 37-year-old woman, saying he would kill her with a sword.
According to police, the man used a messaging app to send the messages to the woman he knows between 5:49 a.m. and 5:58 a.m. on Sunday.
The messages contained threats such as "I'm going to hit you with my zantetsuken (a sword that can cut through iron)" and "If you lock your door, I'll burn your house down."
The woman immediately contacted police. The man has admitted to the allegation.
