Prime Video has announced that Matthew Needham will portray the Joker in the second season of its animated series Batman: Caped Crusader.
The casting was revealed on Thursday during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Needham, known for his role as Larys Strong on House of the Dragon, joins the stage with co-stars Hamish Linklater and Jamie Chung.
Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Friday, July 31, with all 10 episodes available at once on Prime Video. A first-look image of Needham's Joker was also released.
The series features Linklater as Batman and Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn. Supporting cast members include Eric Morgan Stuart as Commissioner Gordon, Jason Watkins as Alfred, and John DiMaggio as Harvey Bullock.
Batman: Caped Crusader first premiered in August 2024. It is executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm.
