Megawati Hangestri will play for Hyundai Hillstate in the 2026/2027 Korean Volleyball League after two seasons with Daejeon Red Sparks. Pink Spiders recruited Cuban player Yensy Kindelán to replace retired Kim Yeon-koung.
Megawati officially joined Hyundai Hillstate as the Asian quota player. She ended her two-season stint at Red Sparks, where she helped the team reach the 2024/2025 V-League final before losing to Pink Spiders.
Korean media gave Megawati the new nickname "Kim Yeon-koung of Indonesia". The nickname emerged after she stepped down from the Indonesian national team to focus on the new season.
Pink Spiders selected Yensy Kindelán, a 188-centimeter opposite hitter, as their third choice in the foreign player selection. GS Caltex coach Lee Young-taek said, "She gives off a Silva aura."
Rivalry between Hyundai Hillstate and Pink Spiders is expected to intensify. Two of Megawati's former Red Sparks teammates, Jung Ho-young and Pyo Seung-ju, now play for Pink Spiders.
