Mojang added cushions to Minecraft in a new snapshot released on Tuesday. The feature allows players to sit and has led to unexpected uses in building, movement, and decoration.
Cushions were introduced as entities rather than blocks. This classification permits placement at varied heights outside the standard grid system.
Players have used the items to create detailed roofs, gradual staircases, and furniture designs. They have also lined them up to enable rapid travel by sitting repeatedly with no cooldown.
Vertical setups function as elevators when cushions are placed every six blocks. Ice boat tracks can now incorporate decorative elements without slowing boats.
Additional applications include redstone contraptions and illuminated dance floors. The changes appeared in an experimental snapshot, leaving open the possibility of adjustments by Mojang.
