The Minnesota Wild have recalled forwards Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Hunter Haight, along with defenseman David Jiříček, from their AHL affiliate Iowa Wild. The moves come as forwards Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek were placed on injured reserve due to lower-body injuries. Defenseman Carson Lambos was reassigned to Iowa.
In a series of roster adjustments announced by Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin, the NHL club brought up forwards Nicolas Aube-Kubel, 29, from Slave Lake, Alberta, and Hunter Haight, 21, from Strathroy, Ontario, as well as defenseman David Jiříček, 22, from Klatovy, Czech Republic, from the Iowa Wild.
Aube-Kubel has recorded one assist in four games with Minnesota this season and 17 points in 31 AHL games with Iowa, including seven goals and 10 assists. Over his NHL career spanning eight seasons with multiple teams, including a Stanley Cup win with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022, he has 81 points in 308 games. Haight, who debuted in the NHL on October 9 against St. Louis, has two games under his belt this year and 12 points, including seven goals, in 26 AHL contests. He was recently named to the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic.
Jiříček, acquired from Columbus on November 30, 2024, has played 18 games for Minnesota this season with a plus-1 rating and has five points in 15 AHL games. The first-round pick in 2022 wears No. 55 for the Wild.
The recalls address injuries to key forwards: Matt Boldy, 24, from Milford, Mass., who leads the team with 51 points including 27 goals in 48 games, and Joel Eriksson Ek, 28, from Karlstad, Sweden, with 32 points in 45 games. Both are sidelined with lower-body issues. Meanwhile, 23-year-old defenseman Carson Lambos from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who was recalled yesterday and debuted December 18, returns to Iowa after eight points in 34 AHL games.
These changes precede Minnesota's road game against the Buffalo Sabres on January 17 at 11:30 a.m. CT.
