Muskoka Brewery unveils refreshed packaging for 30th anniversary

Muskoka Brewery, one of Ontario's largest craft breweries, has introduced updated packaging for its core beers and spirits to mark 30 years of brewing in Muskoka. The redesign blends modern elements with the brewery's heritage and regional pride. The changes aim to enhance brand recognition while honoring consumer insights.

Muskoka Brewery announced the refreshed packaging on February 25, 2026, from its base in Bracebridge, Ontario. The update covers core products including Cream Ale, Muskoka Lager, Detour, and Tread Lightly beers, as well as Muskoka Spirits Vodka Soda. This initiative signals a new chapter for the Canadian-owned brewery, founded in 1996.

The redesign stemmed from over a year of research and collaboration with creative agency Blackjet. Consumer insights highlighted a desire for a cleaner, modern look that maintains emotional ties to the brewery's roots. Key features include greater emphasis on the Muskoka name, refined signature colors with bolder accents, and a new Canadian-made callout featuring a subtle maple leaf to underscore its 100% Canadian ownership and production.

The iconic Muskoka chair now plays a more prominent role, symbolizing the region's lifestyle from dock days to cottage weekends. "This refresh is about showing up as strong and confident on the shelf as we are in the glass," said Kristin MacDonald, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "After 30 years, we knew it was time to evolve - not by chasing trends, but by listening closely to our drinkers and honouring what makes Muskoka, Muskoka."

"Choosing Muskoka means supporting a brewery that’s truly local - owned here, brewed here, and deeply connected to this place," MacDonald added.

President Todd Lewin emphasized the brewery's unique connection: "No other brewery gets to call Muskoka home the way we do. This refresh celebrates that proudly - while carrying the responsibility we feel to the fans who have welcomed us into their cottages, campsites, and traditions for three decades."

To minimize waste, the transition is gradual, with both old and new packaging available temporarily. The full rollout is set for the May 2–4 long weekend. Refreshed products are now appearing at LCBO locations, The Beer Store, grocery retailers, and other outlets across Ontario.
