From July 1, VMA will reach people faster through the new SE-alert system. Warnings will be sent directly to all mobile phones in affected areas without an app or registration.
The new SE-alert warning system begins operation on July 1. It sends VMA via mobile towers to all smartphones in a specific geographic area.
SE-alert complements existing channels such as text messages, apps, radio, television and the outdoor siren Hesa Fredrik. Messages will also reach children, young people and tourists who have not registered their numbers.
When a message arrives the phone emits a sharp signal, vibrates and displays text on the screen. Recipients are instructed to read the message and follow the directions.
