Former WWE star Raj Dhesi has praised Nick Aldis ahead of his scheduled in-ring debut for the company at SummerSlam 2026. Aldis is set to face GUNTHER this coming weekend after temporarily stepping down as SmackDown General Manager.
Raj Dhesi, known in WWE as Jinder Mahal, described the upcoming match as very very long overdue during an appearance on Busted Open.
Dhesi noted that Aldis has not wrestled since October 7, 2023, and expressed hope that the former TNA and NWA champion would be presented as a professional wrestler rather than a civilian GM.
He also suggested WWE could have included a highlight package of Aldis' career in the build-up and said a strong performance might lead to a full-time in-ring role after SummerSlam.
Aldis is expected to resume his duties as SmackDown General Manager following the event.
