Nike and fragment design have unveiled the Mind 001 in black as part of Hiroshi Fujiwara's Concept Testing initiative. The futuristic mule sneaker features sensory nodes for brain stimulation and releases initially on March 14 at fragment stores. This collaboration extends to the Mind 002 and Air Liquid Max models.

Nike has partnered with fragment design, founded by Hiroshi Fujiwara, to launch the Concept Testing collection, highlighting technological advancements in footwear. The Mind 001 "Black" (SKU: IQ8502-001) is a mule-style sneaker with an alternative Flyknit upper, engineered perforations for breathability, and a lightweight profile. It includes 22 integrated sensory nodes in the midsole that move against the foot to stimulate brain areas while walking, atop soft foam cushioning for comfort and responsiveness. The design is dressed in matte black with royal blue touches, featuring understated branding such as sample-style stamped text on the midsole and a small fragment lightning bolt logo.

The collection also encompasses the Mind 002 in black and particle grey colorways. The Mind 002 maintains the sole unit's pressure point nodules but introduces a redesigned upper with knit textures, dramatic stitching, and a toggle lacing system with three eyelets per side. Fragment motifs appear in blue on the nodes and product text on the lateral midsole.

Additionally, the Air Liquid Max receives a blacked-out treatment with a translucent black outsole, white text on the midsole and lateral collar, and a new Air Max system using point-loaded Air pods for maximal negative space.

Fujiwara commented in a press release: “I’ve always been interested in new technology and innovation... Both Liquid Max and Nike Mind feel very much like ‘true Nike’ products in that sense.” This marks a continuation of their collaboration since the late 1990s.

Releases are staggered: The Mind 001 and Mind 002 drop on March 14, 2026, via fragment's website and stores, followed by a global launch on March 19 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. The Air Liquid Max follows on March 31 at fragment and April 3 globally. Pricing for the Air Liquid Max is $225, while the Mind models are listed at $90 to $100 across sources.
