Paulo Augusto Carvalhaes, a veterinary medicine student from Goiás, was expelled from Big Brother Brasil 26 on Friday, January 30, 2026, after pushing veteran Jonas Sulzbach during the Big Fone challenge. Globo's production determined the action risked Jonas's physical integrity, breaching program rules. This marks the ninth disqualification in the reality show's history.
On the morning of January 30, 2026, during the race to answer the Big Fone in BBB 26, Paulo Augusto, known as PA and from Inhumas (GO), pushed Jonas Sulzbach, a veteran from BBB 12, causing him to fall. Footage from security cameras was reviewed by Globo's production team, leading to the immediate disqualification of the Pipoca group contestant.
The production voice announced to the housemates: “Attention everyone, the program's rules exist to ensure all dynamics stay within clear limits and that everyone's physical integrity is preserved. For putting participant Jonas's physical integrity at risk, Paulo Augusto is out of Big Brother Brasil. Be careful.”
Jonas Sulzbach, after the expulsion, stated that he “didn't want this” and denied filing a formal complaint with production. However, Babu Santana confronted the model, saying: “You didn't file a complaint, but tell the truth, you kept complaining about being pushed. Why do you think they investigated?”
Viewers criticized the decision on social media, arguing the push did not constitute serious aggression. Nevertheless, Globo justified the action under the contractual rules, which require safeguarding participants' physical integrity.
This is the ninth expulsion in BBB history, following cases like Pedro, who quit after sexually harassing Jordana, and Henri Castelli, who left due to health issues involving convulsions. The program has already lost three participants this season, two in the first week.
