Persib Bandung tops Group G after 3-2 win over Selangor FC

Persib Bandung secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Selangor FC in the fourth match of Group G in the AFC Champions League II 2025/2026. Two goals from Adam Alis turned the game around after trailing by two. This win places Persib at the top of the temporary standings with 10 points.

The match took place at Stadion MBPJ in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, on Thursday local time. Selangor FC took an early lead with a header from Chrigor Moraes in the third minute, which goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam failed to stop, making it 1-0. In the 17th minute, Persib's Patricio Matricardi scored an own goal, extending the lead to 2-0.

Persib attempted a comeback in the first half, with Rosembergne da Silva (Berg)'s shot going wide in the 26th minute and Luciano Guaycochea's effort saved by goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Nazrel in the 36th. The first half ended 2-0 to the hosts.

In the second half, Persib played more aggressively. In the 49th minute, Andrew Jung scored through a combination with Berg, reducing the deficit to 2-1. The pressure continued, and in the 81st minute, Adam Alis equalized at 2-2 with a measured shot from inside the penalty box. Two minutes later, Thom Haye's shot nearly gave Persib the lead but was tipped away by the keeper.

The drama peaked in the 90+7th minute when Adam Alis capitalized on a goalkeeper error to score the winning goal, securing the final score of 3-2.

This result gives Persib Bandung 10 points from four matches, one point ahead of Bangkok United in second place after their 2-1 win over Lion City Sailors (goals by Muhsen Al-Ghassani and Luka Adzic; Lennart Thy for Lion City). Lion City Sailors are third with 7 points, while Selangor FC languish at the bottom with zero points. Persib now needs just four points from their remaining two games to qualify as group winners.
