Phillies players receive honors in 2025 MLB postseason awards

Several Philadelphia Phillies players earned recognition in the 2025 MLB postseason awards following a 96-win season that included an NL East title and a first-round bye. Cristopher Sánchez finished second in NL Cy Young voting and made the All-MLB Second Team despite a standout performance. Kyle Schwarber placed second in NL MVP voting with league-leading home runs and RBIs.

The Philadelphia Phillies' strong 2025 regular season, marked by 96 wins, an NL East crown, and a first-round bye to the NL Division Series, translated into multiple individual honors during MLB's postseason awards.

Cristopher Sánchez had a remarkable year as a starter, making 32 starts with 13 wins, 202 innings pitched, 212 strikeouts, and an 8.0 bWAR, the highest among pitchers. He finished second in NL Cy Young voting and 15th in NL MVP, earning a spot on the All-MLB Second Team at starting pitcher alongside teammates Zack Wheeler and Kyle Schwarber. Despite his 2.50 ERA and superior stats over New York Yankees' Max Fried—who went 19-5 with a 2.86 ERA and 4.4 bWAR—Sánchez was overlooked for the First Team. Sánchez also led Phillies starters to a league-best 3.53 ERA and posted a 1.65 ERA in September over 32 2/3 innings, allowing just six runs. Earlier, he was snubbed from the All-Star Game despite a 7-2 record, 2.59 ERA, and 116 strikeouts at the time, though he received an All-Star bonus after declining a late invitation due to scheduling.

Kyle Schwarber finished second in NL MVP voting, receiving 23 second-place votes, and made the All-MLB Second Team as designated hitter. He hit an NL-best 56 home runs and led baseball with 132 RBIs in the final year of his contract.

Trea Turner placed fifth in NL MVP after winning his second batting title with a .304 average, stealing 36 bases, and recording 17 outs above average at shortstop.

Jhoan Duran, acquired at the trade deadline from the Minnesota Twins, earned First-Team All-MLB honors at relief pitcher with 32 saves, a 2.06 ERA, and 80 strikeouts in 70 innings.

Jesús Luzardo finished seventh in NL Cy Young with career highs of 15 wins, 216 strikeouts, and 183 2/3 innings, though he was inconsistent mid-season before a strong finish.

Zack Wheeler, sidelined in late August with thoracic outlet syndrome, placed ninth in Cy Young and made the All-MLB Second Team with 195 strikeouts in 149 2/3 innings, an 11.7 K/9 rate, and a 0.935 WHIP.

Manager Rob Thomson finished third in NL Manager of the Year voting, his highest placement since taking over in 2022, leading the Phillies to four straight playoffs.
