Phoenix Palladium launches India's largest rooftop racquet sports hub

Phoenix Palladium in Mumbai has unveiled the Phoenix HSBC Racquet Club, India's biggest integrated rooftop facility for racquet sports. The 12-court venue, perched atop the mall in Lower Parel, features six padel and six pickleball courts built to international standards. It combines sport with lifestyle elements, including retail and dining, to serve players of all levels amid rising demand in South Mumbai.

The Phoenix HSBC Racquet Club (PHRC), developed in partnership with PadelPark India, marks a milestone for racquet sports in urban India. Situated on the rooftop of the iconic Phoenix Palladium mall in Lower Parel, the facility spans 12 courts: six for padel, sourced from Spain, and six for pickleball. All courts adhere to global tournament specifications and offer stunning views of Mumbai's skyline, making it the first such large-scale, open-air elevated setup in the country.

This launch addresses the scarcity of premium court access in South Mumbai, accommodating beginners to experts. Beyond the courts, PHRC integrates a brand ecosystem sponsored by HSBC, with contributions from Lacoste for racquet heritage, Superdry Sport for performance wear, Tira for beauty, Victoria’s Secret for lifestyle, and Fast&Up for nutrition. The venue extends into a community space, linked to Phoenix Palladium's luxury shopping, dining at the Gourmet Village with over 25 global restaurants, and proximity to the St. Regis hotel. A dedicated café enhances the on-site experience.

Through PadelPark India, the club will host the Indian Padel Tour, leagues, and coaching via the Indian Padel Academy, boosting the sport's growth and engagement. Amit Dabriwala, Director at Bellona Hospitality, noted that the project unites "global-standard infrastructure, thoughtful design, and a lifestyle-first approach to sport, while addressing long-standing challenges around court accessibility in the city." Nikhil Sachdev, Co-Founder of PadelPark India, added that it signifies "a significant step in embedding padel into everyday urban life, creating a platform for competitive play, tournaments, and community-led events aligned with global standards."

Overall, PHRC redefines racquet sports as a blend of athletics, leisure, and social interaction in Mumbai's bustling environment.
