President Prabowo Subianto delivered a speech at the HIPMI XVIII National Congress in Bandar Lampung on June 10, 2026. He discussed past sins of entrepreneurs, the importance of nationalism, and his use of the Maung vehicle.
In the event, Prabowo stated that Indonesian entrepreneurs have many sins from the past. He reminded HIPMI members not to violate the law in the future because technology and AI can now detect fraud quickly. Prabowo also shared his experience using the Maung vehicle produced by PT Pindad. He mentioned the car roof leaking during rain and making noise on uphill terrain, but he continues to use it for the sake of nationalism. The president emphasized that nationalism is the foundation of economic growth. He noted that Japan, America, Western Europe, and China advanced because of nationalism, and cited sociologist Liah Greenfeld. Prabowo denied plans to expel foreign investors. He said he has met many investors who want to enter Indonesia on the condition of complying with applicable regulations.
