The Federal District Public Prosecutor's Office opened an inquiry to investigate whether campaigns by Neymar Jr. and Virginia Fonseca with the betting platform Blaze influenced vulnerable consumers.
The 1st Consumer Defense Prosecutor's Office opened the procedure to check if Blaze instructed influencers to use the expression “renda extra” in promotions. The inquiry also examines complaints about account blocks, value retention and abusive clauses.
The agency was prompted by more than 42 thousand complaints registered against the platform operated by Foggo Entertainment Ltda. The investigation could lead to a collective moral damages lawsuit of R$ 120 million.
The National Consumer Secretariat was notified to provide reports on the company registered in Curaçao.
