SMHI issues warning for cloudburst-like rain in central Sweden

SMHI has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms expected to hit parts of northern Värmland, northwestern Dalarna, southernmost Jämtland and northwestern Gävleborg on Saturday.

The warning is valid until 01:00 on Sunday. In northwestern Dalarna between 30 and 50 millimeters of rain may fall in a short period, with the largest amounts during the afternoon and evening.

Mora, Malung and Leksand are mentioned as areas that may be affected. Strong wind gusts may also occur with the showers.

Precipitation is expected to ease during the evening and the night toward Sunday.
