The Sociedad de Servicios de Alimentación filed a criminal complaint on Tuesday against JUNAEB director Fernando Peña for the crimes of calumnious denunciation and administrative prevarication.
The legal action was filed before the Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago and declared admissible. The company accuses Peña of maliciously reporting irregular payments of 14 billion pesos for undelivered rations, despite the same facts having already been investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office in 2023.
That prior investigation ended with the definitive dismissal of the case as no crimes were established. SOSER maintains that Peña filed the complaint knowing this outcome and sought to damage its reputation.
Peña, who took office in April, stated that he continues exchanging information with the Prosecutor's Office and the Comptroller's Office. The company produces 783,000 daily rations for the School Feeding Program.
