Fuse Games and publisher Secret Mode have officially confirmed that Star Wars: Galactic Racer—a podracing-style runs-based racer set in the Star Wars Outer Rim—will launch on October 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The announcement, following a recent leak and timed ahead of Star Wars Day (May 4), includes a new trailer and details on standard, Deluxe, and Collector's editions, with pre-orders now live.
Developed by Fuse Games (former Burnout and Need for Speed team members) and revealed at last year's The Game Awards alongside Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic from Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect director Casey Hudson, Star Wars: Galactic Racer puts players in the role of mysterious pilot Shade competing in the unsanctioned Galactic League racing circuit after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The game emphasizes skill and strategy—no Force powers involved—as per the official blurb: “No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.”
Gameplay includes single-player campaigns to build alliances and rivalries, customizable repulsorcraft (three types including podracers), and online multiplayer races for up to 12 players. Pre-orders include exclusive vehicle livery and multiplayer banner background options, with an upgrade path available from standard to Deluxe.
