The Sun Troupe for Special Needs has relaunched the theatrical production Gimo's Adventures at the Sun Theatre in Cairo's Nasr City. The play features actors with special needs performing alongside professionals as part of efforts to integrate them into cultural activities.
The production is staged at the International Park and forms part of the Ministry of Culture's initiatives under Minister Dr. Gehan Zaki. Dr. Ayman El Shiwy, head of the Artistic Theatre House, and Mohamed Metwally, director of the Sun Troupe, attended the reopening with theatre sector leaders and media personnel.
Following the performance, El Shiwy joined the cast on stage and stated that supporting and empowering individuals with special needs remains a priority within the sector's plans. The Artistic Theatre House noted that the family-oriented play operates within an adventure framework and delivers the message that the dream has no expiration date.
The play stars Karim El Husseini, Essam Mostafa, Safi Fahmy, Omnia Gamal, Ahmed Walid, Carol Adel, Wael Amin, Fajr El Husseini, and Ali El Husseini, alongside the Sun Theatre's actors with special needs. It is written by Salah Metwally, with poetry by Bilal Imam, music by Ahmed El Nasser, and direction by Mohamed Ashry.
Gimo's Adventures runs weekly on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with free entry for the public.
