Tom Morello canceled his performance at BBK Music Legends due to his mother's hospitalization. The superband Beat, featuring Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Steve Vai and Danny Carey, extended its set to fill the gap alongside Graveyard.
The BBK Legends festival in Bilbao Arena held its second and final day on Saturday without Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. Morello announced his definitive withdrawal after his mother Mary Morello was hospitalized again and returned home to care for her.
Organizers extended Beat's concert to two hours. The group performed 17 songs from the 1980s King Crimson repertoire plus two encores, Red and Thela Hun Ginjeet. Adrian Belew, aged 76, thanked Robert Fripp for allowing the music to be played.
Graveyard opened the bill with its Swedish hard rock. The band led by Joakim Nilsson and Jonatan Larocca-Ramm delivered a powerful set with rhythm changes and touches of blues and psychedelia before a crowd that has followed them for years in the Basque Country.
