Governor Andrew Mwadime revealed that proposals to share Tsavo National Park revenue have stalled due to insufficient collections.
Taita Taveta County Governor Andrew Mwadime said initial proposals to share revenue from Tsavo National Park between the national government and the county had stalled.
He added that the park had relied on funding from the Ministry of Finance. Local leaders had pushed for a 50 percent split, and President William Ruto had promised to meet their request.
Mwadime expressed hope for an alternative revenue source through carbon credits from the park, a large part of which lies within his county.
