A serious crash occurred on road 66 south of Söderbärke on Sunday evening when a tanker truck carrying liquid oxygen collided head-on with a passenger car.
The crash took place at 19:18. Rescue services and an ambulance arrived quickly. A 300-metre area was cordoned off because of the tanker's load.
Reports from the scene indicate that gas is leaking from the truck. The road is closed and rail traffic in the area has been halted. The road is expected to reopen at 04:00 on Monday morning.
Police duty officer Jens auf der Heide described the incident as a serious accident. Police are present with substantial resources.
