Apple TV has announced that the fourth season of its Emmy-winning comedy Ted Lasso will premiere in summer 2026. The new season features Jason Sudeikis returning as Ted Lasso, who coaches a second-division women's football team in Richmond. Production began in July 2025, with first-look photos revealing familiar faces and new cast members.
Apple TV confirmed on January 28, 2026, that Ted Lasso season 4 will debut this summer, nearly three years after the season 3 finale aired on May 31, 2023. The renewal was announced in March 2025, surprising fans who thought the series had concluded with Ted's return to Kansas. As Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV, stated at the time, 'Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fan base all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief.' The official logline describes the plot: Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.' Principal photography started on July 21, 2025, with filming in Kansas City, Kansas, and London. First-look photos show Sudeikis alongside Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Jeremy Swift at a barbecue in Kansas City. Returning cast includes Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins. Annette Badland reprises her role as Mae. New additions are Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely, who takes over as Henry Lasso from Gus Turner. Behind the scenes, Emmy winner Jack Burditt joins as executive producer under a new deal with Apple TV. Sudeikis executive produces with Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, and others, while Bill Lawrence produces via Doozer Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. The series, developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Kelly, and Hunt, is based on NBC Sports characters and has earned 61 Emmy nominations and 13 wins, including back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series for seasons 1 and 2.
