Tesla crashes into Newport Beach home, missing children
A Tesla vehicle plowed through the walls of a Newport Beach home on Friday night, coming to rest in a bedroom where two children had been moments earlier. No serious injuries were reported in the incident near Mariners Drive and Antigue Way. Authorities described the event as one that could have been much worse.
The crash occurred around 11:23 p.m. on October 3, 2025, in the Dover Shores neighborhood of Newport Beach. According to the Newport Beach Fire Department, crews responded to reports of a vehicle collision near Mariners Drive and Antigue Way.
A white Tesla smashed through the side of the home, ending up inside a downstairs bedroom. Video from the scene captured the vehicle with its hazard lights flashing and significant front-end damage. “The car came to rest inside a downstairs bedroom where two children had been moments earlier,” authorities told KTLA 5. “Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, and this incident could have been much worse.”
The driver was transported to a hospital, though their name has not been released. The Newport Beach Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. On social media, reactions expressed disbelief at the car barreling into the house, highlighting the close call for the family.
