Teyana Taylor, a host committee member for the 2026 Met Gala, detailed her red carpet preparations on Monday. The singer, songwriter, and actress shared her multi-step routine ahead of the event. She aimed to stun on the garden-inspired carpet.
Taylor described her process starting with a massage while mulling over evening plans. Recently announced as the newest Revlon Girl, she called it “a dream come true.” For makeup, artist Yeika Oliva applied Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick for a soft, lustrous look and a smoky eye to complement her dress. Taylor recalled her first memory of Revlon from childhood ads, saying, “We all used to see the ads, but I never thought it would be me.” She has always loved beauty products, she added. Next, Taylor planned to wear her hair slicked back to look wet, keeping the focus on her outfit and makeup. “Get my wig on,” she said. “I am wearing my hair in a little slick-back; it looks wet. I want to keep the focus on the outfit and the mug.” The centerpiece was her custom Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann gown. Taylor emphasized its importance, describing it as revealing everything and nothing at the same time. “It looks like it’s melting as I move. I like to think of it as the ‘ghost of a body’—it appears and disappears as I’m moving,” she explained. Her final step was to arrive on the Met Gala carpet and enjoy the evening.
