The presidents of the United States and China began talks in Beijing focused on bilateral relations and international conflicts. The meeting takes place on May 14 and 15.
Donald Trump arrived in the Chinese capital accompanied by executives from companies such as Apple, Tesla and Boeing. Discussions include Chinese purchases of aircraft and agricultural products, as well as the creation of investment and trade councils.
China emphasized principles of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence. The country also activated mechanisms to reject U.S. sanctions related to purchases of Iranian oil.
The talks further address the situation in Iran and China's support for Cuba against Washington measures. Beijing reiterated its opposition to the blockade and its backing for Cuban sovereignty.
