Led by Representatives Adrian Smith of Nebraska and Jim Jordan of Ohio, the lawmakers argue that PL 4.675/2025 discriminates against US tech firms by copying provisions from the European Union's Digital Markets Act.
The letter references the Section 301 investigation report, which imposed 25 percent tariffs on Brazilian products, and warns of billions in costs and reduced innovation if the bill passes.
They urge the issue be addressed in any negotiations and express support for investigations and trade deals such as the USMCA.
