Utah YouTuber attempts to order 51 Tesla Cybertrucks

A Utah-based YouTuber from the What's Inside? Family channel tested Tesla's website by trying to place as many Cybertruck orders as possible using refundable deposits. What started smoothly hit payment snags after about 10 orders per credit card. In the end, he successfully ordered 51 Cybertrucks worth around $3.5 million.

The experiment began with the YouTuber, a known Tesla enthusiast who has reviewed models like the Model X and Cybertruck on his channel, aiming to push the limits of Tesla's ordering system. He planned to place multiple refundable $100 deposits in quick succession, armed with several credit cards to bypass any restrictions.

Initially, the process worked seamlessly. Each order triggered a confirmation message: 'Your order is complete.' However, after around 10 orders, a problem arose. The screen displayed: 'There was a problem processing your payment. Please check and try again or contact your card issuing bank.' Undeterred, he switched cards, noting, 'One credit card down…I’ve got more where that came from.'

This pattern repeated: each card allowed about 10 orders before failing. By the video's conclusion, he had placed deposits for 51 Cybertrucks, totaling approximately $3.5 million if completed. He speculated that Tesla's website might enforce a 'bot limit' to prevent automated bulk ordering, though this remains unconfirmed.

The deposits are refundable, averting any real financial commitment, but the stunt highlights potential vulnerabilities in high-volume online purchases. For context, organizations like the Las Vegas Police Department have acquired multiple Cybertrucks for practical use, showing the vehicle's appeal in bulk scenarios. The What's Inside? Family channel continues to explore such tech experiments on YouTube.
