VfB Stuttgart defeats FC Augsburg 3-2 in Bundesliga

VfB Stuttgart defeated FC Augsburg 3-2, solidifying their fourth place in the table. Despite the visitors leading twice, goals from Deniz Undav secured the win. Eintracht Frankfurt won 1-0 against Mainz 05.

In the 10th matchday of the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart defeated FC Augsburg 3-2. The visitors from Augsburg took an early lead through Fabian Rieder in the 8th minute after a pass from Keven Schlotterbeck. Maximilian Mittelstädt equalized from the penalty spot in the 18th minute, after Schlotterbeck had conceded the foul. Shortly after, in the 26th minute, Han-Noah Massengo put Augsburg ahead again, following a mistake by VfB goalkeeper Alexander Nübel who played the ball to Atakan Karazor, who lost possession.

Deniz Undav saved Stuttgart in the 39th minute with a header from a cross by Bilal El Khannouss to make it 2-2. After halftime, the game became more subdued until Undav scored the winner in the 80th minute with an assist from Angelo Stiller. Stuttgart celebrated their fifth consecutive home win and remains in fourth place. Augsburg suffered their fourth straight competitive loss and lingers at the bottom of the table, increasing pressure on coach Sandro Wagner despite his backing.

In the Rhein-Main derby, Ritsu Dōan secured a 1-0 victory for Eintracht Frankfurt against FSV Mainz 05 with a solo goal in the 81st minute. Frankfurt holds seventh place with 17 points, staying close to the European spots. Mainz remains in 17th with five points in the relegation zone.
