Virgil Abloh Archive announces global Air Jordan 1 release

The Virgil Abloh Archive and Jordan Brand have unveiled the Air Jordan 1 High OG x V.A.A., the first global product from the late designer's collection of over 20,000 objects. This all-white sneaker revives elements from Abloh's 2018 Off-White collaboration with updated branding. It will launch exclusively in March before a worldwide release on April 3, 2026.

The Virgil Abloh Archive™ (V.A.A.) and Jordan Brand announced the Air Jordan 1 High OG x V.A.A. on March 12, 2026. This marks the first global product drawn from Abloh's extensive archive, which contains over 20,000 objects from his creative practice. The partnership between Nike and Virgil Abloh began in 2017, and this release continues that legacy following Abloh's passing.

The sneaker features an all-white design with Abloh's signature elements, including an open construction that exposes the tongue, an orange tab on the Swoosh, and bold black 'AIR' lettering printed over the midsole's air unit. It builds on the 2018 European-exclusive version from Abloh's The Ten collection, which followed the 'Chicago' colorway. A key update for the 2026 edition is the medial side text, now reading 'V.A.A. for Nike' instead of 'Off-White for Nike,' while retaining the exposed layers, sewn-on Swoosh, and midsole lettering.

Shannon Abloh, founder and president of the Virgil Abloh Archive, stated: “V.A.A.’s mission is to keep Virgil’s ideas alive. The Archive exists not only to preserve Virgil’s work, but to share it with great care and intention. Virgil treasured his collaboration with Nike, and the Air Jordan 1 was deeply significant for him. As a teenager, it sparked his dream of becoming a designer, and it was the first pair he designed for Nike. It's an honor to continue this partnership under the banner of V.A.A. for Nike, advancing Virgil's creative legacy together through exhibitions, publications, cultural programming, and new editions of his iconic designs.”

To mark the launch, the V.A.A.™ is hosting World’s Fair activations throughout March 2026 in cities central to Abloh’s life: Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. The first event occurs at Architecture in Los Angeles on March 14-15, where the sneakers will be available exclusively to attendees and local residents via an online EQL raffle. Additionally, the first 100 subscribers to the Archive’s new Toolkit program for emerging creatives will receive a pair.

Following the March activations, the Air Jordan 1 High OG x V.A.A. (SKU: AA3834-100) will release globally on April 3, 2026, via Nike SNKRS, online at Canary Yellow, and select retailers, priced at $230.
