Vomitory announces new death metal album in death throes

Swedish death metal band Vomitory has revealed details of its upcoming album, In Death Throes, set for release on April 10 via Metal Blade Records. The announcement coincides with the debut of the single For Gore And Country, accompanied by a video. The group, which reformed in 2019, continues its resurgence following a 2023 comeback record.

Formed in 1989, Vomitory established its reputation through eight albums released between 1996 and 2011. The band disbanded in 2013 but reunited in 2019 to mark its 30th anniversary. Their return culminated in the 2023 album All Heads Are Gonna Roll, and now they build on that momentum with In Death Throes.

Drummer Tobias Gustafsson described the new songs as extending the style of the previous release while increasing the intensity. He noted that new guitarist Christian Fredriksson integrated swiftly, contributing music to four tracks and introducing subtle variations that preserve the band's signature sound.

Recording took place at multiple studios: drums and vocals at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad under producer Rikard Löfgren, with guitars and bass captured at Goff Studios by Fredriksson. Lawrence Mackrory handled mixing and mastering at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala, yielding a heavy yet clear and dynamic result.

The lead single, For Gore And Country, launches at high speed, combining grind elements with mid-tempo sections suited for headbanging. Gustafsson explained that it reflects the lyrics' depiction of a relentless advance.

The album's tracklist includes: Rapture in Rupture, For Gore and Country, Forever Scorned, Wrath Unbound, In Death Throes, Cataclysmic Fleshfront, Two and a Half Men, Erased in Red, The Zombie War General, and Oblivion Protocol.

To support the release, Vomitory will embark on a European and UK tour in 2026 alongside Hypocrisy, Abbath, and Vreid. The itinerary spans from April 2 in Berlin to May 2 at Incineration Festival in London, covering multiple cities across the continent.
