Leaf blowers have long been a source of neighborhood irritation, with their persistent roar dominating fall cleanup seasons. Whisper Aero, a company specializing in quiet electric motors for aerospace, addressed this at CES 2026 by launching the T1 under its Tone Outdoors sub-brand. The T1 achieves 880 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of airflow, exceeding that of popular battery models like the EGO, while operating at an average of 52 decibels at peak—drastically quieter than standard gas-powered units.
Engineers at Whisper Aero redesigned the fan and motor, drawing from their work on efficient, low-noise aerospace propulsion. This innovation not only reduces sound by 80 percent but also increases power output by 60 percent relative to leading handheld gas blowers. Users can expect up to 50 minutes of runtime in Eco mode, surpassing mid-range competitors. For longer sessions, a battery backpack option will extend operation for hours, though it arrives in the first quarter of 2027.
Practical additions include an integrated LED light, allowing work after dark without disturbing neighbors, thanks to the subdued noise level. The T1 is available for preorder at $599, with shipping set for September 2026. A limited-edition version in a special color costs an extra $100. Tone Outdoors plans more models and has partnered with Stanley Black & Decker to integrate the technology into future products.
