María Felicia Jiménez accused Víctor Rodríguez Padilla of at least three aggressions, including one in March. The Morelos prosecutor opened an investigation on June 27 after a video was released.
María Felicia Jiménez, who identifies as the wife of Víctor Rodríguez Padilla, published a five-minute video on YouTube on June 26. The footage shows struggles, shoves and blows inside a home in Emiliano Zapata, Morelos, on March 15, with a minor present.
The Fiscalía General del Estado de Morelos confirmed on Saturday, June 27, that it is investigating the events as possible gender-based violence. The office is coordinating with the Secretaría de las Mujeres to protect the victim and minors.
Claudia Sheinbaum stated that the federal government will provide support to Jiménez and that the case will be investigated without exceptions. The Secretaría de las Mujeres has already contacted the victim to offer legal guidance and accompaniment.
Rodríguez Padilla responded on June 27 that he will cooperate with authorities and trusts the facts will be clarified objectively. He said he has separated from any public post to handle the process as a private citizen.
