YOASOBI confirms Overwatch collaboration with limited event

J-pop duo YOASOBI has partnered with the video game Overwatch for a three-week event featuring new cosmetics and music.

The collaboration began on June 30 and runs until July 20. Players can access six legendary hero skins for characters including Kiriko, Genji and Hanzo, along with dance emotes that feature official music and choreography.

A press release from Activision Blizzard described the event as exploring the Shimada lore through YOASOBI’s music, a new short story and a fully animated music video. Map updates also form part of the experience.

To mark the partnership, Juno Records is releasing a special vinyl edition titled The Book of (Overwatch Edition). The record ties directly to a new Overwatch game map and is performed from the perspective of Genji, Hanzo and Kiriko.
