12-year-old girl dies in hit-and-run in north Delhi

A 12-year-old girl was killed in a hit-and-run accident in north Delhi's Adarsh Nagar on Friday afternoon. The victim, Manvi Pal, a Class 7 student, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital. Police are investigating the incident involving an unidentified vehicle.

Manvi Pal, a 12-year-old Class 7 student at DAV School in Model Town, died after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in Adarsh Nagar, north Delhi. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon as she was returning home on an electric scooter with her grandfather from Rameshwar Nagar in Azadpur, where the family resides.

Police received a PCR call about the incident around 2.30 pm. By the time officers arrived at the scene, Manvi had already been rushed to Fortis Hospital in Shalimar Bagh. She succumbed to her injuries there, according to authorities.

Preliminary inquiries indicate that the vehicle hit the scooter, causing the crash. Manvi's grandfather sustained minor leg injuries but survived. No arrests have been reported yet, and the police are working to identify the fleeing driver.

This tragic event highlights ongoing concerns over road safety in urban areas, particularly for minors commuting in busy neighborhoods like Adarsh Nagar.
